Attorney Christine Rockefeller Receives Public Service Award
Burns, Bryant, Cox, Rockefeller & Durkin, P.A. is proud to announce that attorney Christine M. Rockefeller is the 2022 recipient of the Marilla M. Ricker Achievement Award from the New Hampshire Women’s Bar Association. The award honors women lawyers for professional excellence, public service, and advancing opportunities for women in the legal profession.
“I’m thrilled and humbled to accept the Marilla Ricker Award,” said Rockefeller. “The NHWBA has a long and proud tradition of honoring woman attorneys who have made great strides advancing both the legal profession and women’s rights in our state, and it’s humbling to be included in that tradition.”
A worthy recipient of an award honoring a pioneering attorney
The award’s namesake, Marilla Ricker, was the first woman attorney in New Hampshire and paved the way for women to enter the legal profession in our state, in addition to advocating for women’s suffrage and other egalitarian causes.
“We’re all beyond proud of Tina for her incredible achievement,” said firm partner Sarah E. Lavoie. “The Ricker Award is given to women lawyers who have achieved professional excellence and paved the way to success for other women lawyers, and/or advanced opportunities for women in the legal profession, and/or performed exemplary public service on behalf of women – certainly Tina meets all of those criteria and then some.”
Attorney Rockefeller earned her law degree in 1985 and has been practicing law in New Hampshire since 1987. In addition to her involvement with the NHWBA, her work in the community includes serving on the Board of Directors of the Dover Children’s Center and nearly a decade of service on the Greenland School Board.
